Background and Objective: This study aimed to examine the implementation barriers of policies supporting private investment in the petrochemical industry (case study: Tabriz Petrochemical Company) and to identify and prioritize the factors affecting these barriers.
Research Method: The present research was conducted using a descriptive–analytical approach and a survey method. The statistical population consisted of 3,500 employees of Tabriz Petrochemical Company. Using Cochran’s sample size formula, 347 individuals were selected as the sample through random sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was examined and confirmed using the content validity approach. Its reliability was also assessed through construct evaluation using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and was confirmed.
Findings: Based on the results of exploratory factor analysis, seven factors were extracted from the total of 40 research questions. These factors collectively explain 87.507 percent of the variance in identifying and classifying the effective barriers to the implementation of policies supporting private investment in the petrochemical industry. Ultimately, the factors were categorized into seven groups: institutional and structural barriers, legal and regulatory barriers, economic and financial barriers, managerial and executive barriers, infrastructural and technical barriers, political and international barriers, and informational and transparency barriers.
Conclusion: The findings of this study can assist policymakers, managers, and private investors in the petrochemical industry to develop more effective strategies for supporting private investment by providing a clearer understanding of the existing barriers.
